HO Scale: Passenger Special featuring UP, KCS, Amtrak, and Santa Fe

Since I don't run a lot of passenger trains on the layout, I figured I'd best do so since last Saturday, we had more than usual running. I had my Union Pacific E9 trio out pulling some UP executives around, Dad had his Kansas City Southern special out, and Amtrak and Sante Fe make an appearance too.

My E9s are Proto2000 units that were from their very first run back in the 90s. Before they even offered B units. So I kitbashed the B out of two A unit shells. UP rebuilt the real ones back in the 90s to GP38-2 specs and I detailed these to match. Then custom painted them. They do not have sound installed, and I'm not sure they will. When they are running, they have a deep loud rumble to them so I don't know how well the sound would come through. But they are some of my all time best runners and are my most powerful consist with all the weight inside them.

The KCS is Dad's and the E3 is a Broadway Lmtd. unit with one Walthers car, a Rapido, and the tail car is brass. This was the first time he's run this one and it looked really nice. KCS did run single unit 3-5 car trains when they were in the passenger business, and this set captures that really well.

The Amtrak train belongs to our ICG fan Mike, and the Sante Fe belongs to three people. Me, Dad and John. The lead unit is Dad's, I have the second unit, and John owns the all the cars.

That's all for now, I still have a lot more footage to put together for another club video, still have the N scale club footage too... and may be getting more today as I'm going out there this afternoon.
