As a 911 operator, I had heard it all - the screams, the cries, the pleading voices. But one call in particular will forever be etched into my mind. It started off as a typical emergency call, with a woman frantically reporting a home invasion. But as she continued to speak, I could hear the sound of someone breathing heavily in the background. It wasn't until the woman let out a scream that I realized the intruder was still in the house with her. And then, the call ended.
