Описание к видео Vox Tales

Vox Tales explores the transformative power of the arts in questioning crime and punishment in our society. Join founding director Alison Urie and sociologist Professor Les Back as they chart Vox Liminis' 12-year journey fostering community development through creativity. Featuring music and poems by diverse collaborators, the podcast tells stories of connections, legacy and learning towards change.

Founding director, Alison Urie, in conversation with sociologist Professor Les Back, charts the evolution of Vox Liminis - from its roots in community work to becoming a recognised voice and catalyst for change. A journey that has been built through creativity, collaboration and community building.

Featuring a selection of tracks co-created by people inside and outside of prison, the podcast touches on themes of identity, loss and resilience.

Over the past 12 years Vox Liminis has developed a series of ground-breaking projects within the context of crime and punishment, working with individuals who have committed crimes, victims of crime, families affected by crime, and people who work in the criminal justice system. These projects aim to foster reflection, imagination, and integrative community development through the arts.

As Alison says - “We’ve always been about asking brave questions and making space for people to connect through art – across all the messy, beautiful complexity that life brings."

As Scotland and other countries around the world reconsider their approaches to the criminal justice system, Vox Tales offers a timely insight into how collaborative, creative practice can foster genuine dialogue and systemic change. Whether you're an artist, justice reform advocate, or simply curious about the intersection of creativity and social change, this podcast will inspire and inform in equal measure.

The podcast marks the beginning of a new chapter in the story of Vox Liminis. Having secured funding for the organisation for the next three years Alison is keen to pursue new challenges. The search is now on for a new Artistic Director to work with the Vox Liminis community to shape a bold and ambitious vision for the future.
