Former England captain Sam Burgess was among the many rugby league figures to pay tribute to Rob Burrow CBE. The Leeds Rhinos great died at the age of 41 on Sunday, having dedicated the last four-and-a-half years of his life to raising money and awareness for motor neurone disease causes after being diagnosed with the condition in December 2019.

Sam Burgess' father Mark died 17 years ago after being diagnosed with MND and the Warrington Wolves head coach understood from personal experience what the Burrow family had faced.
