✅ - 1 - Appetiser BEFORE main course

In Italy you will not get your main - pasta or pizza, fish or steak, until everyone is done with their appetisers.
The waiter will only bring the main course for everyone when all the starters plates are collected.

✅ - 2 Pizza Romana vs pizza Neapolitana

There are 2 types of pizza in Italy:
Pizza romana - coming from Rome - has a very thin crust
But there’s also pizza napoletana!
By the way, did you know that pizza was actually invented in Napoli?

The most traditional Pizza Napoletana is margarita and marinara.

Maybe riposo is one of the reasons that people in Sardinia tend to live longer than average life expectancy in the world? Being one of those Blue Zones where people tend to live over 100 years.

✅ 6 - Italian bar is not a cocktail bar

THE BAR in Italy is not the bar we have in mind in the UK or the US - where you go to the bar after work to grab your drink.
In Rome, in Italy the bar is the place you are getting your morning coffee from. So it’s a coffee shop in Italy. But instead of calling them coffee shops they are calling then un bar.

Italians don’t drink there coffee from a carton cup on the go! Moreover, Starbucks does not exist in italy, it’s just not here!
McDonald’s is here and plenty, but Starbucks still didn’t make it to Italy.

✅ 8 - Ordering LATTE in Italy

latte here means milk in Italian.
So asking for latte you are asking for a glass of milk in Italy.

✅ 9 - No spoon when you eat pasta in Italy

The right way to eat pasta in Italy is with a fork only. You need to put pasta around the fork while helping yourself with the plate.
And never ever cut your pasta with a knife in Italy! If any Italian witnesses such a cruel behaviour- you will be responsible for their heart attack.

✅ 10 - Pizza etiquette

You cannot ask the waiter to cut your pizza in Italy
The only alcoholic beverage you supposed to order with pizza in Italy is beer.
I thought it’s Italian classic having pre-cut pizza with a glass of wine!
