In this Hyfindr Expo Highlights, at the 2024 Hydrogen Technology Expo in Hamburg, Maik Heuer from DiLiCo Engineering presented their advanced cell voltage monitoring devices designed for electrolyzer stacks, fuel cells, and battery stacks. These devices enable precise monitoring of cell health and performance by measuring both cell voltage and temperature, which provides critical insights into the stack’s state of health. DiLiCo offers several versions, including a cable-free model that attaches directly to the stack surface for easy and quick installation, saving time for customers.
The monitors can measure both positive and negative cell voltages, which is essential for protecting stack longevity, especially during shutdowns when reverse voltages may occur. For applications with fast load changes, DiLiCo offers a high-accuracy device that monitors voltage fluctuations down to 0.1 millivolts, supporting stacks undergoing rapid power shifts.
Additionally, DiLiCo provides a specialized research device for internal stack analysis. This unit can be placed between cells to capture current and temperature data, helping researchers evaluate stack material performance and aging. DiLiCo’s customers include electrolyzer and fuel cell manufacturers, system integrators, and research institutions, all aiming to ensure optimal stack performance and reliability in hydrogen production.
