The Influence of Attitude and State of Consciousness on Perception - Spiritual Discourse

The reason these talks might be quite interesting and inspiring is the tension between our views, perspectives, and attitudes. Aaron is more on the non-dualistic side, and philosophy is a high priority for him. He is focused mainly on the (phenomenal) consciousness “I am”. I'm clearly in a dualistic view, yearning for a personal relationship to a personal God with humanlike characteristics. (While we both acknowledge the cosmic mind.) Philosophy leaves me cold. While Aaron denies the existence of Reality and Truth, I emphasize their relativeness but still see them to be existent and worth searching for. Aaron is very fond of intoxicating substances, while I, personally, prefer a strictly sober lifestyle and warn of the risks here. However, I acknowledge the godly nature of the cosmic mind and the (cosmic) consciousness, while I point out the existence of more than that. I believe in Jesus and the God he represents, while Aaron is very skeptical about this, though he had remarkable, exceptional experiences related to both. I became aware of him because of a video in which he talks very vividly about his encounter with Jesus. Likewise, I think that the most interesting, fruitful exchange is happening between opposites. Our contact was short but intense and taught and inspired me. Hopefully, these snippets of our talks are of interest and value for at least some people here.
