Praying Mantis Kung Fu is commonly said to have originated when a man named Wang Lang observed a mantis catching a cicada. But where did it really come from? And how was its early development? In Origins of Praying Mantis Kung Fu, I seek to answer these questions by tracing the art from an obscure practice in rural Laiyang County, to being practiced by people all over the world.
