🔧 What to try

1. Reboot your PC
Sometimes simply restarting solves it.

2. Clear Roblox cache or temporary files
Type Win + R, then type %localappdata%, open the Roblox folder, open the Versions folder, and delete all the contents inside it.

Also clear browser temp files if you’re launching from a browser.

3. Check antivirus, firewall, and third-party software
Many users found that an antivirus, firewall, or overlay software (like RTSS or MSI Afterburner) prevented Roblox from opening.

Just go on Task Manager and end RTSS and MSI Afterburner tasks. Then try to play Roblox and it should work.
For example:
This happened to me… disabling Afterburner (more specifically RTSS) fixed it.

In one case, the issue was caused by Bitdefender — adding Roblox to its exception list fixed the launch.

4. Run as Administrator or Compatibility mode
If launching fails silently (you click Play but nothing happens):
Right-click the Roblox Player executable, go to Properties, then the Compatibility tab, and choose “Run as administrator” or “Run in compatibility mode for Windows 11.”

5. Reinstall Roblox completely
Uninstall Roblox, delete all leftover folders (for example, in %localappdata% and in Program Files), then reinstall fresh.

My computer has not been launching the Roblox player — zero errors, it just will not open.

If you go into System, then Power, Sleep, and Battery settings, change both boxes under “Screen and Sleep” from whatever minutes it’s on to “Never” — that fixed it for me.

The only way I could open it is by uninstalling it, then using the command rmdir /s Roblox, then installing it again. Even then, sometimes it doesn’t open.
