With tonights gig mere hours away which features the release of the BIG DOG 'in the yard' demo on 7”, it seemed like the right time to share a set of theirs.

Featuring all members of VIOLENT WAY, Buffalo's premiere Oi revival band, and as far as I can tell BIG DOG started just as an excuse to get Graham, the titular Big Dog, singing in a band. Having learned how quickly the songs were written it is absolutely baffling that they are as good as they are. BIG DOG first released their demo a little over a year ago and as a fan of both punk and novelty music I was instantly hooked. Filling their live set out with a grip of crowd-pleasing covers, BIG DOG are always an entertaining band, but the small grip of original songs are so damn good I just can't help but wish there were more so their set didn't always have to be rounded out, even by songs I like!

While I may not be the bands target audience and we may have differing opinions on things such as hair you can be sure I would gladly be 'kicking it downtown with the boys' any damn day!


This featured set was from a wild event last year which I believe was only the second ever VIOLENT WAY local appearance. A stacked bill including VIOLENT WAY, DUSTERS, DELUXXE, BIG DOG, and CONSERVATIVE MILITARY IMAGE (more sets from this show coming later) at occasional killer Buffalo venue The Firm.
