"Faith in Times of Affliction" - John

Dr. Jordan Rogers continues preaching verse-by-verse through The Gospel of John in this sermon from John 16:25-33 entitled, “Faith in Times of Affliction.”

John’s purpose in John 16:25-33 is to record Jesus’ response to the disciples’ sorrowful, yet unannounced questions concerning His comments about His departure. Here, the disciples are amazed at Christ’s knowing and responding to the unannounced question about Him going to the Father, and in their amazement, they make a confession of faith in Christ. After their confession made in amazement, Christ challenged them to continue in faith during the ensuing times of tribulation which will come upon His disciples in this world. Christ declares the certainty of tribulation in this world and also tells of the possibility of peace which His believers can enjoy by faith because He has overcome the world.
