EPISODE 4: Family and friends remember Skwatta Kamp rapper Flabba

He was known for his lyricism.

In his hometown, they watched his rise with pride and awe as he and his hip hop group, Skwatta Kamp, made their mark in the music industry.

Fans thought of Nkululeko 'Flabba' Habedi as the son of Alexandra, Johannesburg.

But now, one of the first things that people think of when they hear his name isn’t his music, but his untimely death.

On 9 March in 2015, South Africans woke up to the shocking news that Flabba had died. He was stabbed to death by his girlfriend, Sindisiwe Manqele, who claimed it was self-defence.

She was found guilty and is currently serving 12 years in jail for the murder.

But Flabba is more than the story of his death, he lived. And this is his story.
