I intended this video to be replacing the auger and repairing the gearbox. The removing of the auger became challenging and the video was too long so I broke it up in to two videos.

This video contains what was involved in removing the gearbox and the repairs that were needed to get the gearbox back in proper working order.

This project has become very challenging with many setbacks, the first being finding replacement parts. John Deere still makes the auger but it was extremely expensive. I was able to find a salvage auger from Bryant Combine Parts over in Indiana. The next challenge was getting the old auger out and that will be the next video in this series. The final challenge has been the discovery of how bad the grain tank has deteriorated. I hope you enjoy this series and what is involved when working on older equipment.
