Market linkages for Sikkimese entrepreneurs are encouraging, said Karma D. Youtso, Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department, expressing happiness over the positive response received by entrepreneurs at the Sikkim Utsav held at Delhi Haat.

She stated that entrepreneurs from Sikkim received valuable market exposure and established meaningful business linkages during the Utsav, with a large number of visitors showing keen interest in their products. According to her, the event provided a vital platform for local producers and start-ups to directly interact with customers, traders, and potential buyers from across the country.

“I am happy to witness Sikkimese entrepreneurs getting good market linkages at the Sikkim Utsav in Delhi. This is the first time that entrepreneurs from Sikkim are getting such wide exposure for their products at the national level,” she said.

Karma D. Youtso added that products from Sikkim, including organic food items, handloom and handicrafts, organically processed foods, herbal products, and traditional textiles, have been well received by visitors at Delhi Haat. The positive response, she noted, reflects growing demand for authentic, high-quality, and eco-friendly products from the Himalayan region.

She further emphasized that the Commerce and Industries Department remains committed to supporting entrepreneurs by creating marketing opportunities beyond the state and strengthening value chains. Participation in events like Sikkim Utsav not only promotes local enterprises but also helps entrepreneurs understand market trends, consumer preferences, and pricing dynamics.

The Secretary expressed hope that the encouraging response at Delhi Haat would open new avenues for collaboration, bulk orders, and long-term business partnerships, thereby contributing to sustainable livelihoods and economic growth in Sikkim.
