(Demo starts at 0:55) http://carolineguitar.com We want to show you what we were going for with the Olympia fuzz by comparing and contrasting it with some pedals whose tones we all love and know so well. If you prefer the sound of the Muffs, that is totally cool - there are plenty of them out there, and some other great boutique makers that do some spot-on recreations from the different eras. We dialed the tone controls on the Muffs as close to 50k as possible to set them as neutral and flat as they can get, and compensated with the volume controls to get things pretty even from pedal to pedal. The Olympia is set to 12:00 on the volume, and then we matched gain/sustain settings across all the pedals for each comparison.

Brian Fechino (Keith Kane, Pat McGee) is playing through Archer Avenue Studio's 1969 Marshall to an ENGL 4x12" cabinet mic'ed with a Royer 101 and an SM57. Mic Pre Chandler Limited TG 2 Abbey Road Edition. Conversion is Apogee Rosetta 800 @ 24 bit / 48k, then to ProTools.
