Film about installation of the GAF LIBERTY – cold application (peel & stick) rubber roof on the low pitch, almost flat porch roof, on the front of the house in Trenton, NJ, over 3 days in November 2019 (Thursday the October 31st, Friday & Saturday, November 1st & 2nd).
Film shows the installation of the base-shield – dedicated self-stick underlayment and then the LIBERTY – cold application of the self-adhesive rubber roll roof.
Before LIBERTY, Jurek helped me to jack up the front porch roof and replace the all rotted main beam with three (2x10)” pine boards. Special thanx to Jurek Gargas as I probably couldn’t do it all alone, or it would be very difficult. We used 3” deck screws to fasten the three main beam boards together, only because my HITACHI carpentry air-gun is MIA as well as many other power and pneumatic tools.

After beam was installed, next day I used RIOBI (battery powered) grinder with the metal blade to cut off a section of the porch metal roof with Yankee Gutter, then I have installed new ½” sheets of plywood to create a smooth surface. Again, I used regular 3” nails and hand held hammer instead of HITACHI carpentry air-gun.

Later I have installed base shield as an underlayment, overlapping it over a new (1x6)” pine front trim to avoid ice damming, and LIBERTY – the cold application rubber roof over the top of base shield.

On the end I installed aluminum flashing from the new rubber roof to the wall, caps to make a transition from the new rubber roof to the adjacent asphalt shingle roof, and I cased the new porch beam with aluminum coil.

Several days later the seamless gutters and leaders were installed by Robert & Company.
