This was the test for Benjamin Button that had the fun and pleasure of working with Eric and Ed and crew on while I was at DD -- I led animation technical direction doing lots of creature rigging, animation setup, some technical modeling, rigging and scripting, plugin writing, scene setup and even some very early mental ray subsurface render tests. It's been widely stated (in TED talks and publicly) these sequences presented in this video are what David Fincher used to get the Button project green-lit by the studio. There was a brief moment before the project was green-lit, when it was temporarily canceled. I was recruited and accepted an offer from Sony at the time and was working on SP3 when production on Button started. I was really glad to know my colleague Steve Preeg was supervising the creature work which turned out so amazingly well executed and great in the final film, garnishing him an Academy Award and DD much well deserved industry wide recognition.
