something that i feel like isn't talked about enough is how depressing winter can be after the holidays. my depression always gets worse during winter, and so i rely on the holidays to help me feel better, but when the holidays are over i feel kinda stuck, and everything feels lonely and--both literally and metaphorically-- cold.
i know it'll get better, and that sunny days will come faster than i expect, but getting to that point feels impossible to wait for. getting through it with friends and keeping in mind how serene things can feel during winter helps me, though!
this song reminds me of those feelings, the serenity, the emptiness, and the hopefulness, so i decided to cover it.

oh, it also reminds me of the end of The Giver by Lois Lowry, but that's not important
