Чтобы закрепить этот успех компания выпустила и последователя нейкида – FJ-09 ,он же Yamaha MT-09 Tracer – спортивно–туристический байк,
построенный на той же платформе.
Прежде чем выпустить этого красавца на рынок маркетологи японской компании посчитали, что с 2009-го по 2013-ый годы продажи мотоциклов из
спортивно-туристического сегмента подросли на 34%.Это при том что Ценники у большинства таких моделей, в основном представленных брендами Honda
или BMW не всегда доступны, и начинаясь от 15 тысяч долларов. Кроме того, эти мотоциклы нельзя назвать легкими,как правило, весят они 250 – 300 кг.
Взвесив преимущества и недостатки конкурентов, менеджеры и конструкторы Yamaha решили, что им вполне по силам совершить прорыв и в этом сегменте рынка.
И Легкий Yamaha FJ-09, который весит всего 209 кг, а стоил при старте 10 490 долларов явно пришелся по душе покупателям.
Учтя опыт модели МТ-09, констукторы «Ямахи» подвергли удачный, в общем-то, мотор некоторым доработкам. Так, была изменена система подачи топлива
и перенастроена электроника, чтобы избавиться от проблем с перебоями в подаче топлива в верхнем диапазоне оборотов. Этот трёхцилиндровый двигатель
жидкостного охлаждения выдаёт 115 лошадиных сил и 87 нМ момента — чего вполне достаточно для спорт-туриста, чья стихия — шоссе и хайвеи. Несмотря на достаточно
покладистый характер ,Yamaha FJ-09 всё равно может подняться на заднее колесо из-за резкого открытия газа. Шестиступенчатая коробка передач, к слову, работает
на славу — чётко, без каких бы то ни было проблем.
