Switzerland's largest bank, UBS, has suggested several investment strategies for investors looking to gain exposure to crypto assets or crypto with less risk than investing directly in Bitcoin, Ethereum or other cryptocurrencies.

“There are several key ways investors can access this potential while avoiding the high volatility and regulatory risk of holding Bitcoin or a rival cryptocurrency,” explained UBS analysts.

The UBS Global Wealth Management Team published research notes last week on alternative investments that indirectly provide a crypto-investing experience.

In addition, another alternative is that there is a greater opportunity for platform companies that can embrace DLT-based applications.

By investing in the company's shares, investors will get exposure to crypto assets but with less risk than direct crypto investments.
The bank's analysts, led by UBS Chief Investment Officer Mark Haefele, explained direct exposure to cryptocurrencies was highly speculative.

They believe Bitcoin's recent drop from a record high in November last year has undermined the two most common defenses of the asset class.


While maintaining that direct exposure to crypto assets is highly speculative, UBS analysts stressed that does not mean the technology underlying digital assets is not promising for investors.

In fact, according to them, investing in technology companies that support crypto is an alternative to direct crypto investments.
