The intended outcome of this project is an AI-based crop yield predictor and smart farming advisory system. This system will assess and integrate historical data on crops with current data on weather conditions, soil health, and other variables to yield practical recommendations. The system will determine and recommend local and crop-specific pest control, fertilization, and irrigation schedules and other wise help farmers with recommendations to manage overlapping, underlapping, and waste of resources. This system is expected to improve farming practices, productivity and estimates for small and marginal farmers by at least 10%. To improve digital literacy and reach underserved communities in India, the system will be multispectral in the form of SMS, IVR calls, and web portals in regional languages.
