Location of events unknown - could be Portsmouth in Hampshire?



Various shots of HMS Rodney as a commentator tells us the cost, dimensions and speed of the battleship, along with other technical details. M/S of the tower of the ship, from where the guns and torpedoes are controlled and fired. Several shots of the gun turrets; sailors are seen loading one of the guns. Various shots of sailors sending messages by semaphore with flags and searchlights.



L/S of sailors climbing into lifeboats that are lowered to the ground in an exercise; they row the boats over the water at great speed. On the deck of the ship a crowd of men watch the tug of war team practise, pulling on a rope attached to a suspended heavy weight. L/Ss of sailors going ashore in boats; commentator says half the men on the ship can go ashore daily.
