Man O'War Golf Club of Myrtle Beach

Man O'War Golf Club is one of a kind. The Dan Maples design is built around a 107-acre lake that makes it among the area's most visually intimidating courses.

But Man O'War is a golfer friendly design, starting with the number of take-home memories the layout provides. Man O'War is believed to be the only course in the world with back-to-back island greens -- the 14th and 15th holes -- and it features an "island" hole, the 9th.

Golfers tee off on the "mainland" on No. 9, take a bridge to the fairway, and won't return until they exit the green.

While the water can provide substantial challenges, it removes to obstacles that typically bedevil golfers -- woods and pine straw.

Man O'War is mowed from wall-to-wall and trees are few and far between. In addition to providing great sightlines, the lack of trees also provides ideal conditions for growing bentgrass greens. Wind circulates freely around the course, helping make Man O'War's greens some of the area's smoothest and fastest.

If a date with Man O'War Golf Club is on your next Myrtle Beach golf itinerary, a good time and an unforgettable round await.
