RoboFont is an editor with a point of view: https://doc.robofont.com/documentatio... ... and that point of view is "you do you!" It's intentionally spare because the philosophy behind it is "The tools you choose influence your creative process." RoboFont doesn't want to influence your design process; it wants you to find your own way, either by building your own tools or selecting the tools that work best for you from the community (more on that in a later lesson).

At RoboFont's core is the UFO format: https://unifiedfontobject.org/ — "a cross-platform, cross-application, human readable, future proof format for storing font data." That basically means if RoboFont goes away tomorrow (don't worry, it's not), you could still access your font data for decades to come.
