In terms of the best rookies over the past few years, other guys you’d have to add would be your Mobley’s, JDub’s, Cade’s, Miller’s and even VJ from this year. But out of the 6 guys I chose, to me Victor has clearly been the best of the past few years. Just the same dominant space-coverage that we’ve seen on the defensive end.

And then offensively, the base floor of his offensive production in the league was always going to be around where he started off, 21p, 11r, 4a and 4b as the 2nd for DPOY and ROTY over the guy I thought was the 2nd best rookie of the past 5 years being Chet Holmgren.

And with Holmgren, the notion recently has always bee hate-related. But to be honest, not sure why. Yes, he is corny, and he has a very unorthodox build for the game, but that’s what makes him relatively similar to unique value as Victor. And that rookie campaign was exceptional and was close considering Chet was impacting a top-3 offense and top-4 defense in basketball and the top seed in the West.

The other guys fell to these 2 guys for the raw impact they brought in year 1 which was pretty easy as a pack for me, but it would be remiss of me to not think Kon and Flagg have a strong chance to match and overtake at least Holmgren’s case here with more experience.
