Welcome to Woorim, the exposed eastern flank of Bribie Island that greets the Coral Sea head-on. With long sandy stretches, modest surf, and easy access from the town centre, this spot offers a chilled coastal vibe just north of Brisbane. It’s a locals’ beach at heart — picnic tables, surf lifesavers, and retirees mixing with the odd wind junkie when conditions align.

Woorim works in N, NE, E, SE and S winds, with the most consistent sessions coming from summer seabreezes. The wind tends to blow slightly onshore, with small wind-driven chop and a fun bump-and-jump feel rather than flatwater finesse. Moreton Island offshore calms down the swell energy, making it ridable even when the open ocean’s kicking — expect small, manageable waves rather than clean lines. Mornings can be glassy, with thermal winds ramping up into the afternoon.

There’s easy beach access, open grassy rigging space, and usually a few friendly locals out. Launch with care around beachgoers and patrol flags. This isn’t a high-performance freestyle zone, but when it’s blowing 20+ knots from the right direction, Woorim turns on some playful downwind options — just watch the gusts and manage the lulls.
