Five strings and a few circuits is a series that features and brings to foray the synergy of working with other amazing artists from the industry. Irakkam Varamal is an exciting music & dance collaboration project in which I've worked with two extremely talented artists - Singer Keerthana Vaidyanathan and Bharathanatyam dancer Shweta Prachande.

This song is a beautiful composition by Gopalakrishna Bharathi in the raga Behag. It is beautiful what Keerthana, with her amazing voice and soulful singing & Shweta, with her graceful dance & emotive Abhinaya, have done in their own ways to enhance & so elegantly complement the composition that is this song. I am grateful to them both for doing this collaboration and making this entire process a very enriching experience for all of us involved.

In addition to playing the violin and rendering vocals, I have also experimented with the arrangement of this song. Violin pizzicatos and delays form an interesting bed for the melody to start & many of the rhythm elements that follow have an organic, yet electronic sound to it like the ticking & winding sounds of archaic clocks.

Do watch/listen and let me know what you think in the comments below.
