Commander RS Rathore (GTO) has experience of over 7 years as selector in Services Selection Board (SSB). Since 2010, he has been mentoring students aiming to become officers in Armed Forces. As Cdr Rathore takes all the classes of SSB, it helps him in understanding the students better in their psychology tests, Group tasks & interview. The SSB course at RS Defenceselect Academy is of 15 days only but if required extra classes are given to students who have less time left for their SSB so that they complete all the tests of SSB interview. The study material written by Cdr Rathore (Best Book on SSB Interview) is excellent. It has more than 170 topics which are written in a form which is very useful in GDs, lecturette and Interview. In the SSB Class, everyday there is a session for lecturette (where students give lectures) and Group Discussion which improves communication skills, knowledge and ultimately increases confidence of the students. Instead of long sitting hours we have 3-4 hours of productive classes each day. Timed session of PPDT, GD & Lecturette are held regularly, and each person is assessed during these sessions personally by Commander Rathore. Spoon feeding is not encouraged and the SSB aspirants are made independent enough so that they can tackle the SSB without faking it and by actually improving their personality. Everyday there is a class for English, GK and Mathematics so that the course is finished in time. As GK requires more time so the GK period is lengthy.
