Seabreeze Carousel & Verbeeck 165 Band Organ (2)

Описание к видео Seabreeze Carousel & Verbeeck 165 Band Organ (2)

Tunes are "Lights Out" and "Santiago" ... The beautiful carousel at Seabreeze Amusement Park, Rochester, New York, with its replica Wurlitzer 165 band organ, both completed in 1996. The carousel features horses carved by Ed Roth. The organ was built by Johnny Verbeeck, modeled after a Wurlitzer 165 in a private collection. The roll frames are Wurlitzer originals. Shown at the beginning is a picture of the park's Wurlitzer 165, lost with the PTC #36 carousel in the 1994 fire (as you can see, the Verbeeck organ still lacks a facade). Also shown is the roll cabinet with 150+ rolls. The park has the most complete collection of style 165 rolls anywhere. These two tunes, from roll 6529, are "Lights Out" (Earl E. McCoy, 1905) and, at 2:50, "Santiago" (A. Corbin, 1911).

UPDATE -- 2/28/10 -- A replica 165 facade for this organ is in the works!
