Sky News host Rita Panahi has reacted to El Salvador President Nayib Bukele “annihilating” a BBC reporter for criticising his tough-on-crime crackdown.

“That country has gone through an anti-crime revolution,” Ms Panahi said.

“The falling crime in El Salvador has been extraordinary.

“In 2023 alone, the homicide rate fell 70 per cent.

Ms Panahi discussed the issue with Newsweek’s Senior Editor-at-Large Josh Hammer, who says the results “speak for themselves” when it comes to the crime rate.
