The LEGO Ideas platform has been the portal for many great releases over the years. It has allowed fans to demonstrate their creativity and really have an input, with the lucky few who make it through review finally seeing their creation come to life as an official LEGO set.

We are excited to announce that the latest hot release from this platform is the Caterham 7 620R model, whose concept was the brainchild of UK builder, and self confessed petrolhead, Carl Greatrix. Upon submitting his Caterham models on Ideas, Carl created a big promotion campaign, which quickly caught the attention of the car manufacturer themselves. Thoroughly excited by his concept they quickly helped raise the projects awarness and the magic 10,000 votes were easily achieved.

That was almost a year ago and now we have the privelage of building the final official product. Straight from the off it is clear this set is a premium product, with it's luxury packing, new parts and printed elements. That's right there is not a sticker in sight! Sit this alongside some perfcetly formed lines, tight geometry and unique build techniques and you have yourself a very desirable set.
