A great video on how to stop a dog from jumping on people.
Jumping is a huge issues with dogs to the point that they are turned into shelters as well as put down in shelters for jumping. It is very common with behavior assessments in shelters and the dog fails if they jump.
Dog trainers often come up with many ways to stop jumping but I have not seen nor have the folks that contact me had it work. Some common ways that are suggested and just don't work and are bordering on unethical behavior for a professional dog trainer to even suggest. 1)Ignore the jumping and it will go away...no it won't and the person getting jumped on will most likely be injured. 2) Turn your back on the dog...never turn your back on a dog and this also will most likely end up with someone injured 3) teach the dog to sit, sure it is good to teach a dog to sit, but, having a dog sit instead of jumping will not stop the jumping. In order to stop a dog from jumping you need to "punish" the act of jumping, you need to make jumping uncomfortable so the dog does NOT want to do it anymore.
