Zener International Holding has secured a $24 million loan from Togo-based, pan-African Ecobank to expand operations in Guinea-Bissau. Founder of Zener International Holding, Togolese businessman Jonas A. Daou, owns 69.79% of the company while Togolese investors own the remaining 30.21%. Zener is a full-service energy provider operating in Togo that operates a seaborne LPG import facility to distribute to industrial, commercial, and residential customers and for export. According to Togo First, the loan from Ecobank will allow Zener to acquire the assets of Petrogal Guinea-Bissau, owned by Portuguese multinational energy corporation, Galp Energia, including a network of gas stations, strategic fuel and gas depots, and aviation storage facilities across Guinea-Bissau. Regional Executive of Ecobank, Paul-Harry Aithnard, mentioned, “By facilitating this takeover, we are affirming our commitment to supporting visionary African companies in key sectors.”
