2018 Pierre SD - Corn and Alfalfa mix - No Till

May - December 2018

Continuous corn irrigated field.
The corn is planted in a pattern of two 20-inch rows of corn and
one gap row where the alfalfa has been planted in the past.

There is distinct evidence of a severe summer hail storm that
damaged the corn and the alfalfa.

The alfalfa was suppressed after the corn emerged to prevent
its competing severely with the corn. It came back well from the hail.
