Baylan Skoll is briefly seen standing atop a pair of sculptures evocative of the Argonath from The Lord of the Rings in the climactic Ahsoka climax. Ray Stevenson's enigmatic character was missing for the whole of the finale after quietly disappearing after Ahsoka episode 7. Instead of focusing on Baylan Skoll's scheme, showrunner Dave Filoni decided to finish the series with Thrawn's escape and the attempts of Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, and Ahsoka Tano to stop him.
