Why ought we psychologically and spiritually choose this powerful,
high-conscious action of forgiving? Of letting go of anger? How are these deep eternal truths and insights conveyed here, in a pop song from the 90's? We are eternal beings and these truths are timeless, echoed in each of our hearts. Plato said that all learning is just "remembering." These truths are not "subjective" but real, wherever they are expressed.
It is our job to learn, and listen, and discern. When John was baptizing Jesus in the Jordan river, it is recored that a dove came down and a voice from heaven said: "This is my son...listen to him." This may be difficult for your mind to comprehend...so then how will you ever enter into this place of wonder?
Although I recorded this video a few days ago, today was my day to upload it, and guess what was in the "morning readings" that we just read for prayers today, Jesus' words:
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
~ Jesus , Matthew 6:14-15
he taught his disciples this directly after teaching them "The Lord's Prayer"
which was also in the passage today:
After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
~ Jesus , Matthew 6:9-13
I cannot MAKE this kind of thing up. We read this passage perhaps twice in a year? Maybe once? This week is called "Easter Week 5" or "Rogation Monday" -- there are assigned readings and today is the day I was uploading this teaching for us.
What I know is that you are LOVED by a Creator in heaven who is above time, who is before time, who IS, and was, and is to come.
The individual members of Oasis were knit together in their mother's womb by this same Creator. God is so much bigger than we can imagine. He is beyond "He and She."
