The last six weeks were all about spreading my wings and taking flight…
It required a willingness to give myself permission to unabashedly share my joy with the world.

There is profound combination of humility and a willingness to let myself take up space.

And…my biggest hope is that the courage that it takes to allow myself to shine bright is not taken as a diminishment of anyone else…but rather an invitation for us all to take flight, in our own unique ways. This world needs your love…your courage, your gifts.

Today, we will play with this gentle invitation to take flight. As with all of my classes, your commitment is to listen to yourself, your body, your own unique needs for today.

• You are your own best teacher
• Listen to the cues you receive from your body, mind, and breath about the state of your nervous system
• Honor your body, your pace, and let your breath be your guide
• Each posture is an opportunity to explore
• There is nothing to perfect and no goal to achieve
• Follow your instincts and make the practice a unique expression of you
• Have fun and let yourself find your inner joy
• Stop and rest as often as you would like
• Let this practice nourish your body, mind, and soul

 
SCARLET-CHESTED SUNBIRD

Magnificent being,
come out from behind yourself.
The old, tired stories
that strangle and keep you small must be re-told into mythic tales of stalks and scarlet-chested sunbirds.
And as you emerge
from beneath the parched, holy ground
be warned
who you were before will not recognize
the stranger you are becoming
You will no longer yearn to fly
so close to the sun, but will inhabit,
perhaps for the first time,
your marvelous,
Earthly body of belonging.
