This is a presentation explaining the purpose and findings from the research paper “Valuation of air pollution externalities: comparative assessment of economic damage and emission reduction under COVID-19 Lockdown”. In this video we compare the paper to chapter 3 of “Economics and the Environment” and explain the data findings as well as provide an analysis of the data. The paper examines the monetary impact of pollution and its externalities, which were made clear by the Covid-19 lockdowns. By comparing the decreased air pollution levels caused by the Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020 to the pre-lockdown pollution levels in 2019, this paper can isolate and compare the health benefits to the economic losses, both of which are associated with the Covid-19 lockdowns and decreased pollution.
