I love Umeboshi - a very common Japanese pickled plum.

The word "umeboshi" is often translated into English as "Japanese salt plums".

Ume is a species of fruit-bearing tree in the genus Prunus, which is often called a plum but is actually more closely related to the apricot.

Umeboshi are a popular kind of tsukemono (pickles) and are extremely sour and salty.

I love eating Ume just by itself and on hot rice.

This time we are trying Ume snack I bought when I was in Japan.

It called - Hanwari Kari Kari Ume
Which means - Half of crunchy plum.
And it is what it is :)
It's half a plum, it's crunchy and it definatly tastes like the usual Ume only crunchy. VERY CRUNCHY.

It's fun to eat it because it will waken your taste buds the minute you bite it.

It will go great next to a cold beer but also, as Yael said in the video - It will go great in salads.

For westerns like us, it's not a common taste BUT it doesn't mean we can't enjoy it! :) We really do love Ume.
