For this calendar year 2021, here’s the penultimate upload as part of our endeavour for posterity of “Bālamurali Gāna Sudhārasa Sāra Sangraham.” We present you a radio interview, titled, “Face to Face with Dr. M Balamuralikrishna (BMK)” held sometime in the year 2007.

This is a recording that was recorded from the “World Space Satellite Radio – Shruti Channel,” dedicated to Carnatic music.

The duration of this interview is about 2 hours and the same is presented in five parts to facilitate your listening convenience.

The interview is well structured and provides a glimpse of BMK’s early days as a child prodigy, evolution of his music and other topics that holds the interest of the listener.

Interestingly, whatever BMK does on the stage as a creative performer is evident here also; and he is seen to be doing that in this interview.

The interview is interlaced with the compositions of BMK and ends with a rendition of Saint Tyagaraja’s divya nāma sankeertana in the rāga Huséni.
