Redefining the Hong Kong Identity | Michael Khan | TEDxEdUHK

Описание к видео Redefining the Hong Kong Identity | Michael Khan | TEDxEdUHK

Michael Khan talks about the inspiration for his advocacy work in “redefining the Hong Kong identity”, sharing the difficulties he encountered and observed as a mixed-race, ethnic minority Hongkonger. Michael Khan (Bestfriend Michael) is known as “everyone’s best friend”. He grew up performing, speaking, and writing, and completed a business master’s degree at CityU. Being a mixed-race Hongkonger and community leader, hustling between paradoxes of Hong Kong’s multicultural parallel worlds, his advocacies stretch from HK youth to ethnic minorities, gender, education, fashion, civic engagement, and public policy. Named “HK's 30 under 30” of 2019 by the Loop HK and "Youth to Watch 2018" of the Zubin Foundation by the Chief Secretary of HKSAR, his signature "Best Friends for Further Education" project has helped marginalized students find ways into local tertiary institutions. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
