How to teach reading in TEFL | TESOL

Описание к видео How to teach reading in TEFL | TESOL

Learning how to read in your first language and learning how to read in TEFL and TESOL are two completely different things. This is because when we learn to read as children, we can already speak our language and have a huge vocabulary to fall back on.

Teaching reading to language learners can be tricky, and not every teacher really understands how to teach reading in TEFL. This video aims to help give teachers strategies and ideas about how to teach reading in L2 or TESOL.

I begin by giving a short introduction to the productive and receptive skills, and why it is important to teach them. Following this, I focus on how you can teach reading in your TEFL and TESOL classes using Before, During and After methodology.

Parts of this How to Teach Reading video were taken from Unit 17 of our Higher Certificate in TESOL (Level 4). This is a full 20-unit distance TESOL qualification to help you get qualified to become a TEFL teacher.
