Seat Leon MK3 MIB1 Apple CarPlay/Android auto install

I’ve always wanted Apple car play for my lean (had it 5 years now) and I recently saw a place down south fitting some “box” to enable it. Decided to look on AliExpress and found this nifty little kit. Cheap mod in comparison to having to retrofit a full newer head unit for double+ the price and way more effort.

Very quick guide on installing this android auto/Apple CarPlay module for my 2014 Leon. Filmed with my phone so just recorded important bits for anyone who might want to do this mod.

I saw a review from a mk7 golf which had different connectors which I’ve highlighted in the video.

Also there’s an option to “use original Bluetooth sound” in the boxes UI, so you connect them both to have sound and the CarPlay/android auto enabled. I touch on this in the video but played around more after filmed.

It doesn’t come come with any instructions but I just followed the pin settings on the tricker it came with (which was different to the advert) and to get the car to/from CarPlay and back to the cars main UI you just longpress “Car” on the infotainment.
