Ensure the torch is completely turned off and has cooled down
Locate the refill valve on the bottom or side of the torch
Hold the torch upright and insert the nozzle of the butane can into the refill valve
Press down firmly to release the butane into the torch Keep an eye on the fuel level gauge if your torch has one
Allow the butane to flow into the torch for a few seconds
Slowly remove the butane canister and wait a minute or two for any excess gas to dissipate
Turn the torch's flame adjustment knob to the minimum setting
Ignite the torch and let it burn for a minute or so to ensure any air is purged from the syatem
