Her journey was not an easy one, she was bullied as a child for being dark-skinned and of a larger size but, she didn't let all this dampen her spirit. She chose to accept what she had, appreciate who she was and braved all the odds with her cheerful demeanour.

It was her indomitable spirit and confidence which brought her closer to her soulmate, Jatin Sahni.

Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee is celebrated for his distinctly modern take on traditional Indian clothing. Born to a Bengali family in Kolkata, Mukherjee initially planned for a career in medicine, but was drawn to the National Institute of Fashion Technology, which he attended. Since 1999, he has sold designer merchandise using the label Sabyasachi. Mukherjee is one of the Associate Designer Members of Fashion Design Council of India and the youngest board member of the National Museum of Indian Cinema.
