Case Study: Smart Pumping Solutions Help Hoboken Relieve Stormwater Flooding

Описание к видео Case Study: Smart Pumping Solutions Help Hoboken Relieve Stormwater Flooding

To address regular street flooding in their densely populated city, Hoboken, New Jersey, built innovative pump stations featuring smart Flygt pumps and controls that could help the city stay ahead of potential flood events.

The Flygt axial flow submersible pumps remained out of sight to the public while effectively preventing flooding. In extraordinary weather events, including Hurricane Sandy in 2012, the Flygt pumps have played a critical role in getting the water out of the city quickly. The pumps are also preventing flooding day-to-day: Over the course of six months, the pumps prevented city flooding due to rainfall 32 times.

Ultimately, the North Hudson Sewerage Authority has been able to reduce costs, increase efficiencies and alleviate stormwater flooding for this city on the Hudson River.
