Never has the demand for ethical investments been greater, Today we take a closer look at ESG funds and why they may not always be the best way to engage in socially responsible investing.

SRI, ESG or impact investing. All posh ways of saying investing in businesses that don't ruin the planet or the world we live in.

ESG funds have seen the total amount of funds stored in them balloon to over 40 trillion dollars. Are these ESG funds really all they seem? A perfect way for an ethical investor to invest simply and know they are being socially responsible at the same time. Or is this just a shameless attempt at the financial services industry to cash in on the desire to be ethical investors.

Let's take a closer look at these ESG funds in more detail.
