The 69th Edition of Miss Universe was held on May 16, 2021 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida in USA. 74 Candidates from all over the world participated in this edition. Broadcast by the FYI Channel with the conduction of Mario López and Olivia Culpo, also hosted the backstage event Paulina Vega, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters and Cheslie Kryst. This year the entertainment was in charge of Luis Fonsi (last minute, since Pitbull was confirmed but could not attend) Only the country of Cameroon made its debut and 21 semi-finalists were chosen, Ghana and Russia returned to the competition. Miss Myanmar wins the award for Best National Costume, Miss Dominican Republic wins the award for Miss Sympathy and Miss Bolivia wins the award (for the first time given in the history of Miss Universe) Best Impact Project.

Alma Andrea Meza Carmona was born in August 13 1994, she is a mexican model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe 2020. Since winning the title, she became the third mexican woman to be crowned Miss Universe. She had previously been crowned Mexicana Universal 2020 and Miss Mexico 2017, and placed as the 1st Runner-Up at Miss World 2017.
