The nature of Shaitan's power
Deception and temptation: Shaitan leads people away from truth and goodness through trickery and temptation, promising false hopes and urging delays in repentance.
Whispers: It is said that Shaitan whispers evil suggestions into people's minds (waswasa), which can influence their thoughts and desires.
Exploiting weaknesses: Shaitan exploits human weakness and fear, and its influence grows as a person gives in to its temptations.
What Shaitan cannot do
Direct control: Shaitan does not have the power to force a person to act against their will or to physically harm them. Its success is based on ingenuity and its ability to deceive.
Overcome strong faith: Shaitan's power is weak against those who have strong faith. For instance, it cannot get between a person and their prayer (salat).
How to counter Shaitan
Seek Allah's refuge: A primary method is to continuously seek Allah's protection and ask for strength against Shaitan.
Strengthen faith: Increase Islamic knowledge, strengthen your belief, and stay connected to Allah to weaken Shaitan's influence.
Perform acts of worship: Engage in daily prayers, the daily remembrance of Allah (Athkar), and recite the Quran regularly, as Shaitan flees from the house where the Quran is recited.
Control the mind: By being mindful and focusing on your thoughts, you can prevent Shaitan from taking root in your mind and heart.
