Video review of some fishing and boating highlights on the Great South Bay and Fire Island Inlet on Long Island's south shore. Spring gave us plenty of bunker in the ocean off Tobay and Gilgo with plenty of large striped bass feeding on them.

Also had huge numbers of cocktail bluefish raiding the Fire Island Inlet and back bay areas on a nightly basis. Early summer gave a quick shot of small weakfish in certain areas of the Great South Bay but the fishing for them was very spotty at best.

Some beautiful weather over the summer had the Town of Islip and Captree Party Boat captains put on a wonderful July 4th Fireworks show on the Great South Bay. We alos had the chance to spend a lot of time at a favorite anchorage in the Sore Thumb just inside the Fire Island Inlet.

Fishing along the Fire Island area and Long Island's south shore in general was very good during the 2011 season and I am looking forward to the coming 2012 season already. It won't be too long before the stripers, bluefish and fluke are back in force in the Great South Bay and Fire Island areas.
